A few weeks ago, I got a fish. He's a pretty, blue and and yellow Betta Fish named Odysseus. I saw all of these tanks with pictures and scenes behind them, but since I got a boring fish bowl, my fish does not get this decoration. Because I was bored and looking for an excuse to paint something, I decided to create a nice, underwater scene of a coral reef because, well, Betta Fish are tropical, right? Odysseus needed a piece of home.
I like to experiment with ink and water color, mostly to make maps; occasionally, I delve into something else. This project was challenging for me because I had never attempted to draw fish or undersea animals. That and it expanded my experience with blending colors to get a vibrant, diverse scene.

So cool. What kind of ink/pen do you use?
ReplyDeleteIt's a bottle of drawing/artist's ink, and because I think it's cool, I use old ink pens that we found in Grandma's basement. It forces me to slow down and be precise
